What matters is a willingness to contribute, discuss uncertainty, and review the developing work. A family coordinator can help with introductions and decisions without becoming the project’s author.

Douglas works directly with each accepted family, guiding contribution, editorial decisions, review, and publishing. Collaboration and candid feedback help refine the studio’s permanent process, including the archive handoff and closeout.
Every commission has its own written scope. A public name, photograph, excerpt, testimonial, or portfolio page is never assumed; public use requires separate, specific permission.

- How is a founding commission scoped?
- We discuss the people, sources, editorial work, family review, production, and archive return. Scope and fee are prepared privately before you decide to proceed.
