What does AI actually do?
AI helps the studio listen to the whole family at once: organizing material, comparing accounts, finding gaps, proposing questions, and assisting drafts under human control.
A project may contain overlapping memories, changed retellings, undated photographs, conflicting dates, repeated documents, and unanswered transitions. AI-assisted tools can compare that material at scale and propose what deserves attention next. They may help search, group, transcribe, summarize, identify a possible contradiction, or draft a question or passage. Douglas decides what becomes an official question, editorial decision, manuscript change, or published work. The goal is not “AI, write my family history.” It is careful evidence reconciliation and editorial assistance at family scale.
