What does a “commissioned, done-with-you” project mean?
The family contributes the knowledge and meaningful decisions; Kin & Chronicle manages the editorial and publishing work needed to produce a coherent result.
Every family begins with different people, sources, goals, privacy needs, and unanswered questions. A commission therefore receives a private Family Project Plan rather than a generic package. The family participates in manageable rounds, supplies or identifies material, and reviews meaningful checkpoints. Kin & Chronicle organizes the record, identifies gaps, develops the manuscript, and carries the work through the agreed production and archive handoff. It is collaborative, but the family is not expected to become its own editor or project manager.
